Youth4Abolition™ and Women of the ELCA Announce New Giving Partnership

Month: December 2019

Youth4Abolition™ is proud to announce that they will be receiving funds as a

2020-2021 recipient of Women of the ELCA NC Synod “Pennies Project”. This is an outgrowth of Y4A working to present the story of Human Trafficking in our region to not only the Synodical Annual Gathering of the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America conferences last summer, but also as an outgrowth of many presentations to NC congregational gatherings of the organization in the past six months. Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of NC Synod has supported anti-human trafficking efforts for several years. This year there was passion about supporting the prevention and awareness efforts of OEW’s own Youth4Abolition™ and the year-long donation for next year is now a reality.

“As women of faith, we realize our ability to mobilize and make a difference in our communities starts with the smallest efforts. Our Pennies Project is a culmination of our yearly offerings from each of our 15 conferences in the state,” said Joyce Ohlson, one of the coordinators of the 2019 WELCA Annual Gathering at Lenoir Rhyne University this past summer. “Human Trafficking is a hidden crime and our ability to stop the growth begins with efforts like Youth4Abolition™ in building awareness and prevention with our youth and our whole communities. We are proud to support this cause with our annual year-long collection of donations as part of our Pennies Project.”

Are you part of a group that can make a difference through partnering with Youth4Abolition™ in awareness or donations? Think about opportunities at your church, community group or circle of giving.
